Dr. Michele Trammell grew up with cats at home and everything else on the family farm during her weekend visits. It was no surprise when she decided to leave journalism and pursue her dream of medicine and preventative care in veterinary medicine.
Michele attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in Philadelphia. It was from here she graduated in 1994 as a Veterinary Medical Doctor-VMD. (This is of equal status to the more common 'DVM' degree, but Penn wanted to acknowledge the fact that the vet school was based on the human medical school and not on an agricultural school, so they kept the 'MD' part.)
Dr. Trammell started practicing veterinary medicine in a small practice outside of Lexington, Kentucky, after a year working with some amazing veterinarian's she was offer a position to assist with start-up of a corporate practice in Savannah Ga. a year later. Michele not only fell in love with the Savannah and Hilton Head area, she got married and started a family here too. Together with her husband she choice to stay and grow their family and veterinarian practice in the south. Over 19 years in Savannah and South Carolina she has had the opportunity to grow and develop her skills as well as those around her. She also earned two hospitals as a partner and Chief of Staff, which included regular training of new doctors in the region as well as corporate planning, team building. Her passion for animal healthcare; including a fear-free environment, continuing education in geriatric care and less invasive surgery started her quest 14 years go to study mobile veterinary care. ('14 years may seem like a long time, between working and raising an active family, it seems like last week' she jokes when asked about the lost of time.)
'Convenient, Innovative, Personalized and Fear-Free care' are the cornerstones of how Dr. Michele has and wants to continue to deliver veterinary medicine to the Low Country and Coastal Empire with Vet to Pets Mobile Veterinary Services™.
