Celebrating our First year of service to our community.
August 5th 2015 was the day we started rolling Vet to Pets Mobile Veterinary Services full time in the Low Country and Coastal Empire and what a journey this first year has been. We started developing the plan in February of 2015 by contacting ‘LaBoit’ the leader in professional mobile health care vehicles.
The idea of a mobile veterinary hospital wasn’t something new, but what we wanted it to be was. The challenge was to provide the best care; not only for pets but also for pet families. We started by making Vet to Pets what we like to call Mobile/Mobile practice, everything is cloud base and digital; which allows us an opportunity to receive and send information via voice, text, social media and pictures. Our pet families loved it, which took an amazing idea and make it ours; better yet it has made it good experience for both animals and humans.
We had no idea if people would want a mobile Veterinary hospital with so many wonderful brick and mortar hospital is our area. We thickly realized; not only did pet people want it, we were also receiving referrals from other hospital doctors some of which we continue to work with on services we can’t provide. We set challenging yet realistic goals for Vet to Pets to achieve and surpassed them after six month…so we set new ones. We currently provide care to 1600 plus clients!
Our biggest challenge at the beginning was learning new ways of achieving the result needed for the pet without keeping them all day in a cage. We met with drug representatives, spoke at length with other mobile veterinarians and researched everything we could to ensure Vet to Pets was providing the best care for our pets and families. We continue to learn daily new and better ways of providing the care each pet needs, and it is not always the same as the last time and defiantly not the way the book says. As new challenges present themselves Vet to Pets will find a way for making your veterinary experience as stress free and fear free as possible.
Our biggest challenge now is setting a schedule and sticking to it. We try hard to see people on their schedule and because we have a hard time saying NO to pets (we can say NO to people) we end up working most Saturdays and a lot of 12 hour week days. We do try to take one day a week off for our family and often joke ‘we are at least together.’
We haven't achieved this level of success on our own; we have so many people behind the scenes helping us so we can be there for you and your four legged family. Vet to Pets family you have not met but have helped us and continue to help us include our mobile unit people Koni, Gil, Nikki, Willow, Dick Gores RV world, our money people at The Heritage Bank Jeanine, Kimberly, our doctor support Dr. Bruce, Dr. Mike, Dr. Myra, our delivery person Nathan, our PR people Krystal, Joy, Henry and our very first client Maria. Thank to all these individuals and to all our Vet to Pets Mobile Veterinary Services family of pets and people.
Vet to Pets is not just your cat and dog veterinary service; we have seen chickens, turkeys, turtles, guinea pigs, hamsters, parrots arm next week an otter. Though we can give large animal vaccines, we recommend a good equine vet who can provide a much better thorough exam as well.
We promise to continually offer the low country and coastal empire the best in House Call veterinary services. As many of you already know we are preparing to add a second vehicle and additional staff in the near future so the search is on for the right veterinarian to bring the Vet to Pets quality and personal care to both you and your pets.
